Organizational Leadership
Meeting the Challenge
Organizational leadership consulting is a type of professional consulting guided by the Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACTraining) curriculum, which is a set of principles and methods for creating workable solutions, adapted from the evidence-based psychotherapy modality, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Professionals and business leaders who engage in the work of ACTraining can expect to develop greater psychological flexibility, enabling them to overcome negative habits in the workplace, creatively adapt to the demands of their clients & colleagues, seek out meaningful & rewarding opportunities for growth, and commit to workable solutions.
Mindfulness and radical self-acceptance are foundational skills for the ACTraining trainee. ACTraining is different from other business consulting and professional development because it requires prerequisite work in mindfulness in order to understand the self as an instrument of our mind rather than a static state of being.
Taking this approach enables us to evaluate our thoughts and beliefs more openly and honestly. The key to open and honest self-reflection is neutral noticing–a willingness to suspend judgement–which often involves suspending firmly held ideas about who we are. The work of ACTraining is at once demanding and rewarding, and once the foundational skills are learned they can provide the ACTrainee with a lifetime of self-directed personal and professional growth.
The Professional is Personal
Every person has a right to privacy, and while ACTraining demands openness and honesty with one’s self, the tools and exercises can be learned in a private office setting so that the individual’s changed sense of self can be presented to the world when it is adequately processed and understood.
Professional Development
ACTraining is a type of soft skills training for professional development. As such, it may be considered a tax-deductible business expense depending on your unique financial status. We recommend that you present receipts for ACTraining to a professional tax-preparer to determine whether this is true in your case.
